While power flushing and boiler maintenance are current buzzwords in the vocabulary of every plumber we were not always so sophisticated. We often forget that plumbing wasn’t always so commonplace and while it’s so easy to be at awe by the Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton’s of the world, it’s just as easy to overlook the inventors of the things we use everyday. Take the toilet and the sink. Can you imagine life without them? Quite a revolting image it brings to mind if you ask us. So, for today, let’s give tribute to those who came before us who, despite limited technology, created their own version of networks of functional pipes, valve assemblies, and drain fittings to transport water to man and to eliminate waste. It’s time to delve into the history of plumbing.

Maintaining Boiler Efficiency
Checking and maintaining boiler efficiency requires regular testing to ensure that the boiler is running at optimum performance levels. Usually the range will be between 75 and 80%. If your boiler is operating at 50% and below this is a sign that regular testing and adjustments are not being done.
Making sure that your boiler is running smoothly has many benefits. For one it will reduce the energy consumption. If a boiler is working properly and efficiently maintained it will not need expensive repairs down the road. It will also mean a longer life.

Identifying and Managing Central Heating Problems
What are the common causes of central heating problems?
Fuel expense in a household is greatly affected by air and water heating. The sad part is that majority of homeowners only receive a fraction of the benefits from this expenditure due to central heating problems such as leakages that encourage the release of heat outside the household. Regardless if a household was well insulated during the central heating installation, leakages and other forms of damage will develop over time especially if the homeowner fails to maintain it properly. Are you currently dealing with serious central heating problems and struggling to find cost effective and long-term solutions?Monday, 25 March 2013
Carrying out a Central Heating Flush to Improve Boiler Efficiency
Dealing with Central Heating Problems
The central heating system in your home is constantly working to heat your home all year round, and as with anything that is constantly working, maintenance is required. So why would you overlook your boiler? Over time, central heating components can gather deposits and sludge, which can affect the overall performance of your central heating system. In the long run, this will cause your boiler to work harder to output the same heat, increasing your energy bills. This of course can be avoided, through maintenance. This article aims to provide information on methods used to flush your central heating system.
